On the Menu: Dogfish Tacos
Dogfish is an extremely versatile fish, with a mild flavor and tender texture similar to mahi-mahi. With crunchy cabbage and a hint of lime, these Dogfish Tacos are sure to make a splash at your dinner table. Check out our recipe and prep tips below!
Makes 4 tacos
1 pack Atlantic Spiny Dogfish, thawed and cut into 2 inch pieces
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 corn tortillas
½ small purple cabbage, sliced thinly for slaw
1 avocado, sliced
Lime, cut into wedges
Cilantro, for garnish
- Season Dogfish with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the tortillas on both sides.
- Heat oil in skillet. When oil is hot, add Dogfish and cook until one side is browned. Flip and cook other side.
- Transfer to tortilla and top with slaw, avocado, sour cream, and salsa to your preference. A squeeze of lime, a spring of cilantro and you’re good to go! Serve with your favorite Mexican soda or beer.
